North Sulawesi
North Sulawesi Province is located at the tip of the island of Sulawesi, and borders the Philippine state in the north. The capital of North Sulawesi is Manado.

History of North Sulawesi Province

North Sulawesi has a background of a long history before the area is located on the far north end of this archipelago into provincial regions.

In the history of regional government of North Sulawesi, as well as other areas in Indonesia, through several changes in administration, along with the dynamics of governance of the nation.
At the beginning of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, this region residency status as part of Sulawesi. When the capital of Sulawesi in Makassar by the Governor of DR.GSSJ Ratulangi.

Then, in line with the expansion areas of government administration in Indonesia, Sulawesi province in 1960 was divided into two administrative provinces namely South Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi and North-Central Province through Presidential Regulation No. 5 of 1960.
To organize and carry out government activities in North-Central Sulawesi Province, and based on Presidential Decree Nomor.122 / M of 1960 dated March 31, 1960 instituted A. Baramuli, SH as Governor Sulutteng.

Nine months later the Provincial Administration of North Sulawesi, Central laid-back status to the Regional Level I North-Central Sulawesi through the Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 47 of 1960. Areas of the Province of Sulutteng include; Kotapradja Manado, Gorontalo Township, and eight Regional Level II respectively; Sangihe Talaud, Gorontalo, Bolaang Mongondow, Minahasa, Buol Toli-Toli, Donggala, Regional Level II Poso, Luwuk / Banggai. Meanwhile, the parliament of North-Central Sulawesi Province, recently formed on December 26, 1961.

In subsequent developments, noted an important momentum is imprinted with gold ink on sheets of the history of this area is the issuance of Law No. 13 of 1964 dated September 23, 1964 which set the status of Provinces of North Sulawesi as an autonomous region level I with capital of Manado.

Momentum enactment of Law No. 13 of 1964 that was later designated as the birth day of Provinces of North Sulawesi. Since then, the de facto territory of Provinces of North Sulawesi, stretching from north to south-west, from north end Miangas Island in Sangihe regency Talaud to Molosipat in the western district of Gorontalo. The second level regions are included in the North Sulawesi region namely; municipality of Manado, Gorontalo municipality, Minahasa Regency, Regency Gorontalo, Bolaang Mongondow, and Sangihe Talaud district. Governor of North Sulawesi Province Dati I first was FJ Tumbelaka.

In the long journey North Sulawesi Province recorded a number of Governors who has led this area are:
FJTumbelaka (Pj.Gubernur 1964-1965); Soenandar Prijosoedarmo (Pj.Gubernur 1965-1966); Abdullah Amu (Pj.Gubernur 1966 to 1967); HV Worang (1967 - 1978); Willy Lasut.GA (1978-1979); Erman Harirustaman (Pj.Gubernur 1979-1980); GH Mantik (1980-1985); C.J. Rantung (1985-1990); EEMangindaan (1995-2000); Drs. A.J. Sondakh (2000-2005); Ir. Lucky H. Korah, MSI (Pj. Governor 2005) and Drs.SHSarundajang (2005-2010).

Meanwhile, those who had occupied the position of Deputy Governor, namely: Drs. Abdullah Mokoginta (1985-1991); A. Nadjamuddin (1991-1996); J. B. Wenas (Deputy Governor of Governance and Public Welfare, 1997-2000); Prof. Dr. Hi. H. A. Nusi, DSPA (Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs and Development, 1998-2000), and Frederic H. Sualang (2000-2005) and was reelected for the period of 2005-2010.

Furthermore, along with the nuances of reform and regional autonomy, it has been established as a division of Gorontalo Province of North Sulawesi province through Act No. 38 of 2000. With the establishment of the Province of Gorontalo, North Sulawesi Province, the region include: the city of Manado, Bitung City, Kab. Minahasa, Kab. Sangihe and Talaud and Kab. Bolaang Mongondow. In 2003, North Sulawesi Province, having the addition of three districts and 1 city with Minahasa regency as the parent district of South Minahasa, North Minahasa regency and Tomohon and Talaud Islands. Then in 2007 another 4 more ketambahan District namely Kab. Southeast Minahasa, Kab. North Bolmong, Kab. Sitaro and Kotamobagu City.
