East Aceh Regency is a county located on the eastern side of Aceh, Indonesia. This district also includes other oil-rich district of North Aceh and Aceh Tamiang. This area also includes the Free Aceh Movement basis before the enactment of martial law since May 2003. Before the implementation of martial law, the area of East Aceh, including the black areas, especially in the area of Peureulak and surrounding areas.
Population
East Aceh district population consisted of various tribes, the dominant tribe is the tribe of Aceh, Gayo tribe which followed concentrated in sub Serbe So Peunaron and Simpang Clear. Malay Tamiang may also be found near Aceh Tamiang, and the Javanese who occupy the transmigration areas.
