Surya Citra Televisi (SCTV) is an Indonesian television station. Its headquarters are in South Jakarta. It began broadcasting on 24 August 1990 in Surabaya, East Java, broadcasting only to the city and surrounding area. At this point the programming was similar to that of RCTI and used some of their news programs until they could produce their own. On 1 August 1993 it was given a national license and eventually moved its operations to Jakarta. The main office is in South Jakarta and studios are in West Jakarta. It is owned by Surya Citra Network that owned by STAR TV created by Rupert Murdoch, Samsung and News Corporation. In February 18, 2011 the commissioners of both parent company of Indosiar and SCTV has agreed to merger, although it should be inline with government regulations due to both company are going public company.

The East Java version of Liputan 6 SCTV which can only seen in Surabaya debuted in 2001. North Sumatera version of Liputan 6 SCTV is seen on SCTV Medan at 9.30am and re-run in 4.00pm at SCTV. Where broadcast debuted in 1997 and it first hit of first look in 1998.

Other Segments appears and mostly depending on the relay station operated in the city or town. only shows Maghrib prayer in some cities, including Jakarta and Bandung area form Jabodetabek and Surabaya content point a Java, Bali, Palembang, Padang and Medan.
