Southeast Aceh Regency is one of regencies in Aceh, Indonesia. This district was in the mountains with an altitude of 1,000 meters above sea level, which is part of the Bukit Barisan mountain range. Gunung Leuser National Park which is the largest national nature reserve area located in the district. Basically, the Southeast Aceh Regency area rich in natural tourism potential, one of them is the Alas River which is well known as the Whitewater River where sport is very challenging. After experiencing turbulence cukuppanas and long, finally Regent and Vice Regent of Southeast Aceh (Hasanuddin Beruh and Syamsul Bahri) on September 1, 2007 was inaugurated by Governor of Aceh.

In general terms of economic development potential, the region including the Agricultural Zone. Economic potential cool temperate region is coffee and forest products. In the field of Mining, Southeast Aceh has a mineral deposit type-C is very diverse and potentially in the amount of its reserves.
